What is the best cash back credit card without groceries/gas?

I have heard that the Amex Blue and Chase Freedom are the best cards to get cash back rewards, but all the calculations I have seen include groceries and gas in their math. I will be buying very little of these items on this card, it will mostly be big purchases like airfare, hotel, car and meals. Which one is overall the best, if you don't include the items with the heavier cash back?|||There's a good chance that the American Express TrueEarnings庐 Card from Costco and American Express card would be best for you because it pays 2% cash back on travel expenses and 3% cash back at restaurants (as well as 3% back on gasoline).

However, you can use this rewards calculator to see which of many rewards cards will pay you the most for your expected spending profile:

I absolutely hate Chase, all their calling centers are based in India, it is really hard to talk to them on the phone.|||If the charges are for a business you can apply for the Amex Plum business card, the cash back rate is 2%.|||Amex Blue is the best, nothing else compares to it

Between those two cards I would go with the Chase Freedom card because yes you can use it for groceries, gas and about 12 or 13 other categories. The cool thing they do is your top three areas that you spend the most in you get 3% cashback while earning 1% on everything else. Another great fact about the card is you get 50.00 for getting approved and there is no annual fee. One thing Chase hides from you is the fact that you only get 3% cash back on the first 600.00 in purchases in your top three categories. After you reach that you only get 1%. More more cool fact is if you wait till you reach 200.00 in cash back, just for waiting you will get another 50.00. Besides those two cards there are a lot of other cards in the Market. Citibank offers some really good cash back cards and so does Discover. Now if you want a Visa or Mastercard then you will not be able to get Discover. My best sugestion would be to go to a credit card site and check out the different categories of cards. Remember sometimes airline cards and hotel cards do charge an annual fee. In my personal experience if you spend less than 20,000 a year on credit card then I would get a credit card that offers cash back VS. some other reward. I say all that because most airlines charge you 25,000-50,000 miles for a ticket and well if you only charge 10,000 a year it would take you between 2-5 years before earning a free ticket. ( Hope you did not have to pay an annual fee, if so just buying the ticket would of been cheaper). Here are some good sites I found. I hope this helps you out. If you really want a hotel card and if you travel on business American Express offers a hilton and starwood card. But the same thing as the airline card, hotels charge you a lot of points to get one free night. One thing you can do is check out the promotion of the cards and get the card just because it offers you a free two night stay or 15,000 airline miles. In that case get the card use it get the free nights and get rid of the card and get a cash back card. I use the Chase Freedom card and love it. So whatever you do the sites below should be able to help. I believe they all have a hotel page, cashback page and airline page so you can make you selection. Afterall you know yourself the best.
