Can you pay with cash to go on airplanes?

I am 15 years old, so I don't have a valid ID. My dad is going to drop me off at the airport tomorrow with cash to buy a flight home. Will they let me do this?|||First of all, you have to be at least 18 to buy a ticket.

Second, you can pay with cash, but when it's time for you to take your flight, you will be questioned and you and your baggage will be searched because it sets off warning flags in the system.|||I think your dad has to buy it for you; but he can pay cash for the ticket|||No|||not without a picture i d|||yes you can buy the ticket but you will need an id to board the aircraft|||Your dad is going to have to go in with you to purchase your ticket. He will need to sign some papers as well since you are under 16.|||Get the (electronic) ticket online RIGHT NOW. If you just walk up to the counter there may not be any seats for the flight you want for many hours. And if you have no photo ID, your father WILL have to come in and show HIS ID. And you will still be practically stripped searched at security if you pay cash.

This whole plan sounds like your father is going to abandon you at the airport and disappear from your life.|||Unaccompanied minors are permitted on planes with certain restrictions and/or special escorts by the airline. Cash is allowed but raises a lot of security flags. ID is required for ages 16+, but below 16, you will likely need to have your dad present ID and fill out some forms. Try to get your ticket asap. Also, think about getting a roundtrip ticket. It might be cheaper than one way. If you get a ticket on the day of the flight it might be 5 times the price of a ticket purchased in advance.
