What made Johhny Cash different from most country singers?

Johnny Cash was a totally distinctive country singer in the 1960's. Unlike the typical pure Nashville sound of the 1960's, Johnny Cash's music always had that boom-chika-boom sound from his lead guatarist Luther Perkins. Apart from the music, what are the other qualities that made Johnny Cash really stand out?|||"Social unrest" at the time of his increasing popularity....


which equaled "anti-establishment"....hence, many of his


songs had that "thread" in them. Also, the "common,


everyday person" could identify with OTHER songs of his...


So...He attracted TWO classes of people....|||He was an outlaw of country music.He didn't always follow the rules.He was the man in black.He stood up for the underdog, and outcasts.He pretty much did things the way HE thought they should be done, regardless of what others thought.He went to prisons and sang for the prisoners.He wouldn't take no for an answer.I mean he asked June repeatedly to marry him.He loved her and would not take no for an answer.When he wanted something he aimed to get it.He was great! I love his music, and I admire him. rip Johnny Cash.|||he sucks.....thats y he is different from most singers
